Cats do better in Gurgaon apartments than most people expect. They need less space than a dog and none of the walking. What they do need is vertical room, a secure balcony and a litter arrangement that is not an afterthought.
Grille the balcony first
This is not optional above the ground floor. Cats misjudge ledges, chase birds and fall. Mesh or grille every opening a cat can reach before it comes home, not after the first scare.
Height matters more than floor area
A cat with a shelf, a tall post or a cupboard top it is allowed on is a settled cat. One confined to floor level in a small flat is a bored one, and boredom in cats shows up as furniture damage and night-time noise.
Litter
One tray more than you have cats, scooped daily, kept well away from the food. Most litter-box refusals trace back to a tray that was not clean enough or was in the wrong place. Unscented clumping litter suits most cats; they dislike perfume more than owners assume.
Heat
Cats handle Gurgaon summers better than dogs, but they still need shade, airflow and water away from the food bowl. Many cats drink too little, and a separate water point usually fixes it.
